Following The Playoff Push
Back as always just after the midpoint of the NHL season, The Playoff Push is up at Globe on Hockey. It's a tough year to forecast given how vast the gap is between conferences, but right now, I think it'll take about 89 points to make the playoffs in the East and 95 in the West.
A lot of my regular features like The Playoff Push and the Rod Langway Award, etc., are going to migrate over to The Globe's site in the next couple weeks. I'm hoping to keep up some league commentary when I can, but given I'll be doing nothing but Leafs about four days a week, that obviously gets cut back a bit.
With Toronto on a road swing, I'm actually out in Kamloops for a week to see my family (and some junior hockey) so a bit quiet until after next weekend. (I've even got my skates out here, but it's so warm that most of the ponds aren't frozen any more. Call Al Gore.)
There's a ton of outrage here still over the whole Auger-Burrows incident, and the Canucks coach only fanned the flames there yesterday on Hockey Night in Canada. Bad news for the league in B.C., for sure.

Quote of the year
Vigneault was then informed that MacLean has worked as a hockey official.
"Is that what he is?" the coach asked. "Okay, thanks for telling me."
LMAO.
Welcome to spring out here in BC, James!
Nothing but Leafs for 4 days a week? Wow, sounds like a childhood dream of many of the guys I grew up with.

Full feeds instead of titles only for Globe RSS?
I expect that this is out of your control, but I’m likely to read a lot more of the Globe’s articles if they provide the complete content in the RSS feed, instead of just a title. I understand that this is a reasonably common practice for mainstream media sites (the CBC does it too, or at least used to do it), but it really reduces the usability efficiencies I enjoy using RSS.
