The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forward Miroslav Satan to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.

The Penguins are trying to save their season right now, and with Bill Guerin's $4.5-million salary coming in, this is the best way for them to free up payroll space.
As I said earlier today, Guerin's a slight upgrade over Satan — which isn't saying much. He's 38 years old, so expecting him to turn Pittsburgh's season around is expecting too much.
